What is a Facebook Pixel?

According to Facebook it’s a, “A piece of code for your website that lets you measure, optimize and build audiences for your ad campaigns.”

But what the hell does that mean?

It allows you to track people who come to your website. This lets you send people ads who have already visited your website. (OHHHH, THAT’S HOW IT WORKS?!)

It’s actually very, very simple. 

It’s 100% free and you don’t need to actively do anything with it for Facebook to track users and data. When you have the budget for ads down the line you can then use the data you collected so you aren’t starting from 100% scratch. That’s why it’s foundational.

By placing this on your site, you’re setting yourself up for success when you’re ready to scale down the line. Retargeting is the most profitable form of advertising too!  🤑
